Eric Blackmon – 30+ Years Experience

Eric is a life-long Sarasota resident and spent 12 years at the local BMW dealership. He has been passionate about cars since high school and has spent his 30+ year career learning and improving his skills. He He started at the local Ford Dealership, moved to Toyota and then worked at some of the top high-performance shops in Sarasota before joining BMW in 1998.

Steven Jones - 30+ Years Experience

• 20 Years as Head of Engine & Drive Train Development and Tuning at Renntech Inc Florida specializing in MB, Porsche, BMW and MINI
• Supercharged and Turbocharged many engines for maximum performance
• Custom Fabrication of Stainless-Steel Exhaust Systems
• 6 Years as MB & BMW Technician in Pompano Beach, FL
• Graduated from BMW Training in Berchtesgaden, Germany in 1976 (Bi-lingual in German and English)
• Developed 6.5L Conversion for Porsche 928 S4
• Developed Custom Mechanical Valve Train for MB 119 Engine

Steven Jones brings to RENN HAUS his 30+ years of extensive and impressive experience in servicing and maintenance, tuning, engine/transmission rebuilding and modification of Mercedes-Benz, SLR McLaren, Porsche, BMW, Mini and other exotic automobiles.

For the past 20 years Steven was the Director of Tuning and Engine/Transmission Development for Renntech Inc. in South Florida. Over this period he was a significant contributor in building Renntech into one of the largest and most successful tuners in the United States.

He has tuned, rebuilt, turbo-charged and super-charged everything from Mini Cooper's to the one-of-a-kind SLR McLaren racecar.

Steven hails from Germany and graduated from BMW training in Berchtesgaden in 1976 and is bi-lingual in German and English. He has brought to RENN HAUS his relationships with some of the top tuners in Germany such as Evotech and MKB.

Beginning at the age of 10, Pierre developed a passion for fine automobiles when he began working in his father’s establishment, Auto Europa of Chicago, an independent Mercedes, Porsche and BMW shop. Later he spent 3 years at a local dealership and then moved to the warmer climate of Sarasota where he spent four years at the local Mercedes dealer. He then accepted a position with Renntech Inc., one of the top tuners in the US.

Now along with Steven Jones and his 30+ years of experience, knowledge and passion RENN HAUS has what we believe to be one of the strongest automobile tuning teams in Southwest Florida, if not the state.

Ryan von Steinen - Service Manager

Ryan has had a personal interest in cars dating back to the age of 7 when he frequently attended auto-cross and track-day events with his father within the BMWCCA. Since being able to drive Ryan has competed in BMWCCA, PCA, and SCCA autocross as well as several High Performance Driver Education schools. Three years ago he became a track instructor and focused on working with young drivers interested in safely learning the capabilities and control of their vehicles.

Ryan comes to RENN HAUS from a highly successful independent shop specializing in German automobiles in Reno Nevada that RENN HAUS has been associated with for over 10 years. He brings 5 plus years of exemplary service as well as his calm approach and high level of professionalism.

With his interest and strength in customer support Ryan is the right fit for our team working as a Service Advisor to manage the customer's needs and the service work required.

Guy Covington - Owner and Founder

Guy Covington has had a passion for cars over the past 37 years and particularly for Porsches and Mercedes. After his first ride in a 1962 Porsche 356, in the hills around San Francisco, he was hooked for life. Shortly after that ride, he took all his savings and bought a red 1963 Porsche 356B. Since that first Porsche, he has owned many wonderful cars including a National Concourse Winning 1988 Porsche Carrera Factory Turbo Body Cabriolet, 1974 Porsche RSR GT3S PCA race car, a 2006 Porsche Cayman S that was very well prepared for the track, a 2005 Porsche GT3, 1974 MB 280C, 2004 MB E55 AMG along with many other Porsche’s and Mercedes’.

Over those years he has been focused on developing his knowledge and driving skills in the mountains of the West Coast. Guy completed multiple Driving Schools at places like Sears Point Infineon Raceway, Laguna Seca, Sebring and Daytona. He has done numerous Driver Education events, Time Trialing and Solo Racing events.

In 2003 he became a PCA Certified National Driving Instructor and loves teaching people how to safely handle their cars at tracks such as Sebring, Daytona and others.

Guy has a long history of forming and owning successful businesses including RENN HAUS, two IBM Business Partners, an Apple Franchise and a Custom Home building company. His dedication to the highest level of business professionalism is impressive.

His simple philosophy of Honesty and Hard Work is now reflected in RENN HAUS which culminates his dream to pursue a full time life in motor sports.
